The Last Syllables

“The Last Syllables” is a project created through photography to explore the many abandoned schools in Hong Kong. Looking at the abandoned institutes is like listening to the last syllables of a melody. It brings fascinating memories and creates a harmonious conclusion to the once glorious premises. The artist pays tribute to these schools by capturing the beauty of the traces. She uses multiple exposures and montages to best denote the blurriness of memories; and leverages layers of images to transform from documentary to poetic photography, and to transcend from reality to an abstract approach.
